John J. "Jack" Rahmlow, age 88, longtime resident of Mishicot, currently of Two Rivers, died peacefully early Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

John was born in Two Rivers on January 25, 1925, a son of the late Gilbert and Elma (Mandel) Rahmlow. He attended Washington High School in Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1942. On September 11, 1948, he married Verda Weihemuller at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Mishicot. The couple was blessed with 65 years of marriage.
Jack was a lifelong farmer in the Mishicot area until his retirement in 1987; and a longtime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Mishicot. He enjoyed the time spent at their summer home in Door County, fishing, woodworking, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Verda Rahmlow; one daughter & son-in-law, Karen and Dale Schmidt, Appleton; two sons & daughters-in-law, Ken and Sandy Rahmlow, Manitowoc, Dale and Cindy Rahmlow, Mishicot; nine grandchildren: Tim (Jen) Schmidt, Melissa (Tyler) Zimmerman, Kristin (Randy) Kohlstedt, Jeff Rahmlow & fiancé, Stacey Kuether, Diana (Scott) Bogust, Renee (Troy) Thompson, Ryan Rahmlow, Casey (Jen) Rahmlow, and Rachel Rahmlow; and seventeen great grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers & sisters-in-law, Ray and Maryann Rahmlow, Mishicot, Gilbert and Beverly Rahmlow, Gresham; two sisters, Etta Siehr, Manitowoc, Ruth Redeker, Shawano; brother-in-law, Elmer Weihemuller, Oregon; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Zinn, Two Rivers; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, William and Hattie (Zermuehlen) Weihemuller; two sisters & brothers-in-law: Jean (Lorin) Lambrecht, Arlene (Raymond) Schimmel; and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Arnold (Hazel) Kind, Howard Redeker, John Zinn, Pearl Weihmueller, and Janet Parizek.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 325 Randolph St., Mishicot. Rev. Robert Johannes will officiate at the service, with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Mishicot after 9:00 a.m. Friday morning until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Open the Doors; or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
