(1933 - 2014)

Robert Frank Wiegert, age 80, of 523 Buchanan St., Mishicot, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday evening, January 8, 2014, at his residence from complications of COPD.

Bob was born May 23, 1933, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Clarence and Anna Urtel Wiegert and has been a Mishicot resident for the past 42 years. He attended the Pulaski High School in Milwaukee. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and served 4 years as a Radar Specialist. After an honorable discharge he was employed as Senator Proxmire's chauffeur during his campaigning years. He then started driving semi and continued that career path until he retired in 1998. from Johnsonville Meats. In 1967, he joined a ballroom dance class where he met his future wife, who was his instructor. They won numerous ballroom dance competitions and trophies together. Bob married the former Janice Beeck, June 1, 1968 and she preceded him in death on July 6, 2013.

He was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan and enjoyed golfing. He loved watching old western movies on TV and Saturday nights always meant pizza, and Lawrence Welk. He enjoyed early morning coffee with the other Mishicot locals at area restaurants.

Bob is survived by three daughters, Connie (David) Hedman, of Two Rivers; Wendy Wiegert, of Reedsburg; Lisa Wiegert, of Mishicot; one son, Ryan Wiegert, of Mishicot; 5 grandchildren, Matthew Wiegert, Shawn Wiegert, Josh Price, Kaitlin Bolle, Sawyer Wiegert; one great-grandchild, Logan Brown. He is further survived by two brothers, James "Pete" Wiegert, Howard (Sandy) Wiegert, all of Milwaukee; one sister, Eileen Wiegert, of Milwaukee; a brother-in-law, Dennis (Sheri) Beeck, of Mishicot; a sister-in-law, Judy (Robert) Wanish, of Mishicot; nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, and his wife, Janice, he was also preceded in death by one son, Robert "Bobby" Wiegert; one brother, Clarence "Sonny" Wiegert, Jr.; one sister, Audrey Stevenette; and by his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Edna Beeck.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, with the Reverend Robert Johannes officiating, with burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. on Monday January 13, 2014, at Mishicot Public Cemetery with graveside military rites accorded by the Mishicot VFW, Kempen-Staudinger-Terens Post # 7753. Relatives and friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church, until the time of service at 4:00 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

The Wiegert family would like to express a very special thank you to Asera Care Hospice, especially Jessica and Laura, to Pastor Johannes, and the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home for the special care, prayers, and assistance given to Bob, during his illness. Your kindness will always be remembered.
