Daughter of Jabez & Anna Stratton Waite
Wife of Horace S. Frederick who she married in 1850
She and Horace are the parents of seven known children.
Their son Myron Frederick born in 1861 died at a young age.
The other children, Augusta, Walter, Dora, Mary, Myrtle and Elmer grew to adulthood.
Betsey's husband, Horace, worked for many years in the lumber business. Later they operated hotels in the Steamburg area. Their youngest son Elmer was a lumberman as well and moved South to North Carolina with his family.
Bestsey's death record has an incorrect transcription of her maiden name stating her father was Jacob Ward but checking the writing of other letters of that script it is clear that it is Wait as there is a dotted 'i' and the 't' is like other ts in the handwriting.
And the name Jabez being unusual the informant was likely confused between that and Jacob and made a best guess as so many years had past since his passing.
Betsey's death record states she was to be buried in this cemetery on November 16, 1907.
There may not be a marker at Betsey's resting place.
