Roger de Lorraine, Chevalier de Guise, was the youngest child of Charles de Lorraine, Duc de Guise, and his wife, Henriette Catherine de Joyeuse. He was a Knight of the Order of Malta. He died of fever at Cambrai and was originally interred with his ancestors at the Collégiale Saint-Laurent in Joinville. During the French Revolution it was destroyed. The tombs were desecrated and in 1792 the ashes they contained were transported to the Cimetière Chapelle Sainte Anne.
