Nellie Ruth Syree, 79, of Glasgow died Friday, Aug.10, 2007 at the home of her daughter. Born in Barren County she was the daughter of the late Jack and Violet Bunch Ogden and wife of the late Willie Syree. Mrs. Syree was a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church and a former employee of Handmachers in Glasgow.

Survivors include three daughters Patricia Taylor (Dean), Barbara Ramey (Dee) and Peggy Ramsey (George) all of Glasgow; four grandchildren Regina Wimmer (Charles), Dana Groce (Fiancé Daniel Broady), Colitta Garrett (John) and Will Ramey; three great grandchildren Tyler Meadors, Meghan Meadors and Hayden Wimmer; three sisters Nola J. Ashley, of Louisville, Nannie M. Stilts, of Glasgow and Annie Gumm, of Indiana; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a brother Orville Ogden.

Burial was in the New Salem Cemetery.
