He was christened on Jun 9.1696. Brown, in his 1952 Jencks family genealogy, gives this as his birth date. It is possible he was actually born somewhat earlier, as his eldest child was born in 1713 according to the same genealogy. His birth was thought to be about 1692 by the the original contributor of this memorial.

John died on Mar 24,1720/1 during a trip to England: Details are sketchy about whether he died on English soil or at sea. His will, which has not been reviewed, apparently favors the latter.

He married, first, Hannah Boomer.

He married, second, about 1719, Sarah Fenner.

Children(by first marriage): Lydia Jenckes Jenckes, Joseph Jenckes(father of Samuel Jenks, Boomer Jenks, and Caleb Jenks), and Benjamin Jenckes.

Children(by second marriage): Mary Jenckes.
