When Frank Myron Ball was born on January 15, 1906, in Concord, Illinois, his father, Vincent Ivan Ball, was 41 and his mother, Nancy Elizabeth Randolph Ball, was 40. He married his childhood sweetheart, Dorothy Dix Smith (both were 16 years old) on December 7, 1922, in their hometown of Concord. They had two children during their marriage, Betty Jean and Phyllis Lucille. He died on December 17, 1993, in Pasadena, Texas (at the home of his daughter Phyllis), at the age of 87, and was buried at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, next to his beloved Dorothy. They had been married for 59 joyful years.
