(1938 - 2012)

Linda M. Engelbrecht, 73, Bellevue, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, January 4, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 17, 1938 in Green Bay, daughter to the late Alvin and Christine (Olsen) Petersen. She graduated from Denmark High School in 1956. She married Eldor Engelbrecht, September 6, 1958, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2008. She was a former member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Maribel, where she was active in the Ladies Aid, and currently was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Green Bay. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Linda enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, spending time at the woods, singing and listening to music. Mom was an inspiration of Christian love and was a woman of great faith.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris (Glenn) Uecker, Appleton; and Dawn (Keith) Habeck, Maribel; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dale (Joan) Engelbrecht, Green Bay, Clyde (Sarah) Engelbrecht, Maribel; and Lee Engelbrecht, Chilton; ten grandchildren: Alicia (Michael) Evers, Brian (Alisha) Uecker, Allyson and Madysen Engelbrecht, Keegan and Jacob Engelbrecht, Ian, Grace, Janae, and Leyna Habeck; two brothers, Donald (Dorothy) Petersen, Denmark, and Claude (Judy) Petersen, Green Bay; one sister, Lorna Skubal, Mishicot; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Larry and Bonita Hoffman, Green Bay; two step-sisters in-law, Janice (Bill) Kakes, Mishicot, Joyce Marcelle, Two Rivers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldor; sister and brothers-in-law, Mae (Henry) Vandenbush, Glen Skubal; infant brother, Peter; sister-in-law, Elaine Thiel; father-in-law, Walter Engelbrecht; mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Olivia (Engelbrecht) and Raymond Wilson; nephews: David Hoffman and Tom Vandenbush; and niece: Susan Skubal.

Family and friends may call Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 3186 Eaton Road, Green Bay, with the Rev. Stephen Sauer officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Maribel. Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorials be sent to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and School of Maribel or Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church and School.

The family extends grateful thanks to Heartland Hospice, Clarity Care, and the medical staff of Green Bay Oncology at the St. Mary's site for their long term compassionate care. We are also sincerely thankful for the many kindnesses and thoughtfulness of so many caring relatives and friends.
