Company "D," 27th New York Infantry, May 21, 1861 - Feb. 21, 1862. Fought at the Battle of Bull Run, discharged for disability. Enlisted Aug. 1864 and served with the 16th Independent Battery, New York Light Artillery. Fought at Fort Fisher, Wilmington, N.C. and Petersburg, VA. Mustered out July, 1865. A wound to his right hand caused permanent disability.
Son of Gardner and Harriet Goodnough Paddleford. Married Julia A. Burrows, dau. of Nathan and Sarah Barnum Burrows, all of Chenango Co., New York.
