Mother of Mary Ann 'Polly' Nichols, née Walker, murdered by an unknown person (called 'Jack the Ripper' by the Press) at Bucks Row, Whitechapel, on 31 Aug 1888. Caroline died of pulmonary tuberculosis at Dean Street, Holborn, and was buried in the churchyard at St Andrew's on 5 Dec 1852. Her remains were among those removed to the City of London and Tower Hamlets Cemetery when the churchyard was repurposed.
