1909 - 2010 - Annie Adoris Martin, 100, of Alma passed away peacefully on May 12, 2010 at the Westford Nursing Home in Port Elgin. Annie was born in Waterside on July 24, 1909, the daughter of William and Mary Ethel (Douglas) Cairns. Annie was a housewife and also worked as a telephone operator. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family very much. She will be deeply missed by her son, Stuart Martin (Patricia) of Dennis Beach; her brother Orlie Cairns of Riverview, her cherished grandchildren, Pat, Peter, Jill, Chris, and Marielle, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Annie will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents Annie was predeceased by her husband Murch, her daughter, Maureen Martin (15 April 2010); sisters, Eva Akerly and Olive Manning; and brothers Borden, Otty, and Ronald Cairns.
There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will take place in the Alma United Cemetery, Alma, NB at a later date. Memorial donations to the charity of the donor's choice, or Alma St Stephen's United Cemetery would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home.
