Janet C. Plank, 62, of Winchester passed away, Monday, August 13, 2007 at her home. She was born on September 26, 1944, in Morehead, Ky., the daughter of Roy and Elsie K (McDowell) Newton Plank.

Janet owned and operated several businesses. She was a cosmetologist, auctioneer, artist, and she studied medicine. She loved her work and will be dearly missed. She was a member of the Voice for Christ Church in Winchester.

She is survived by: son, Herb (special friend Angel Vore) Meinerding of Winchester; daughter, Mary (Patrick) Burge of Winchester; brother, Larry Plank of Winchester; half brother, Eugene Plank and a half sister, Debbie Wilson, both of Kentucky; stepmother, Letha Plank of Kentucky.; two stepsisters, Virginia Smedley of Kentucky and Bonnie York of Morehead, Ky.; two stepbrothers, Donald Smedley of Albany and Danny Smedley of Union City, Ohio; two granddaughters, Sidnie Burge and Ashley Meinerding; three grandsons, Chris Meinerding, Paul Meckstroth, and Chance Burge all of Winchester; and special friend, Larry Coby of Lynn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two stepbrothers, Leslie and Wendell Smedley; stepsister, Christine Phillips; and sister Margie Brock.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday at the Voice for Christ Church in Winchester, with Pastor Joshua Grimes officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Walker Funeral Home, in Winchester.
