Mrs. Virgie Harman, 89, of Matoaka, died Wednesday in a Bluefield nursing home, after a long illness.
Born in Princeton, she was a daughter of the late John and Isabelle Belcher Hartwell. She was preceded in death by two husbands, J.E. Godfrey and W.P. Harman. She was the last charter member of the Matoaka Christian Church.
Surviving are one son, Charlie Godfrey of Matoaka, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at Matoaka Christian Church with Rev. Carl Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell.
