Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Zion Hill Baptist Church. The Revs. Steve Webb and Wesley Hooper will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wade Guffey, Ronnie Webb, Bobby Webb, Bobby Rogers, David Hall and Ron Elkins.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was a construction worker, a self-employed carpenter and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was a son of the late William Burton Webb Sr. and Mamie Trantham Webb.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Pearl Russell Webb; one daughter, Barbara Jean Hurst of Franklin; one son, William John Webb of Sylva; four sisters, Ethel Mae of Sylva, Betty and Mary of Franklin and Cordelia of Ohio; one brother, George of Gastonia; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
