Esther E. Geier, age 86, of 2500 Garfield St. (Northland Lodge), Two Rivers, died on Sunday evening, January 23, 2011, at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay.

Esther was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Benjamin and Ida (Schultz) Voelker. Esther graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1943. On July 19, 1944, she married Howard Geier in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1999. Esther was employed for ten years at Schwartz Mfg. Company in Two Rivers and was a homemaker. She loved putting puzzles together and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law: Marie A. and Joseph H. Gagnon, Two Rivers; Betty A. (Stanzel) and Robert V. Cavanaugh, Reedsville; six grandsons and their spouses: Bryan and Sheri Gagnon, Berwick, Pa.; Jason Gagnon, Two Rivers; James and Connie Stanzel, Green Bay; Craig and Brenda Stanzel, Manitowoc; Scott Stanzel, Green Bay; Timothy Stanzel, Fond du Lac; eight great-grandchildren: Cassandra, Brady, Julia, Brett, Maria, Casey, Caden and Shawn Stanzel; four step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents: Benjamin and Ida Voelker; one brother, Lester Voelker; two sisters: Hazel Voelker, Edna Puta; one brother-in-law: Archie Puta; one sister-in-law: Marian Voelker; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Theodore and Barbara Geier; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Harry and Laura Geier, Olga and Peter Scherer, Elmer and Emil Geier, Nan and Henry Le Feure, Evelyn and Elmer Poehls, Arthur Kodelka, Ludmilla and Joseph Doubek, Anton Doubek, Ralph and Mayme Geier.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Kelin & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kim Henning. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy 310, town of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan 27, 2011, from 9 until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Northland Lodge for their compassionate care, love and concern of Esther in the past four years.
