Resident of Metter, GA. Daughter of John Elias and Harriette Humphrey. She was a 1965 graduate of Savannah High School. Her first jobs were at Elliotts Drugs and Revco of Savannah. Later she worked in the office of Dr. Phil Hadaway then moved on to Savannah Family Practice, where she worked for Dr Wojonowich, Dr. Geffen, Dr Hissam and Dr. Charmatz. She moved to Metter, GA in 1989. She became an EMT in 1990 and a paramedic in 1993, serving at Mercy Ambulance, Chatham County EMS, Bryan County, Effingham County, Johnson County EMS, Southside Fire Department, Liberty County and Fort Stewart until her retirement in 2014. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Metter GA, and the FOP Lodge No. 7 in Savannah. Over a 40 year period she opened her home to more than 25 foster children. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John David Humphrey. She is survived by her husband, Larry R Usry, Sr.; son, Larry R "Bubba" Usry Jr.; daughter, Georgia Usry Hozey (Thomas) - all of Metter; two grandchildren, Silas Patrick Hozey and Madison Claire Hozey; sister, Jean McCorkle of Savannah, GA; sister-in-law, Stephanie Lowenthal Humphrey (David); multiple in-laws from the Usry family; extended family, Gabriella Faller and Sophia DeBeer.
