Mary Kellner Dahl, known as Monnie Dahl, 91 of Front Royal, Va., died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at The Southerlands.


Service will be private.


Monnie was born October 31, 1921, in Manitowoc, Wis., daughter of Lewis J. and Irma Baumgarten Kellner. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, Wis., attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Va. and was married to Earl O. B. Dahl for 57 years. They raised their children in Chappaqua, N.Y., where they retired then moving to Iron River, Mich., Lexington, Va. and passed away in Front Royal, Va. and will be laid to rest along with her husband, Earl in Manitowoc, Wis.


She is survived by Susan D. Dick (Richard), Tucson, Ariz.; Debra D. DeLor (Kenneth), Louisville, Ky.; and Linda D. Taylor (Allen), Front Royal, Va.; and a dear cousin, Martha Hocking "Marty" Davis and husband, James of Lakeside, Mich.: six grandchildren, Lance Donald, Rhett Donald, Sean Donald, Kathryn Taylor, Cameron Taylor, and Kelly DeLor; three great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.


Monnie received awards as a musician, equestrian, community volunteer, as a 50 year member of Girl Scouts of America, their highest award the "Thanks Badge" and from Iron River, Mich., the "Community Minded Woman of the Year" award in 1972, where she also was President of P.E.O., Twentieth Century Woman's Club, Lady Elks, Iron County Hospital Auxiliary, and member of the Board of the Iron County Hospital and MFC's First National Bank Senior Activity Board. While in Virginia, she was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Buena Vista, the Greater Lexington Newcomer's Club, the Lexington Woman's Club, and the Glasgow Garden Club.


She was loved and will be missed by all her family and friends and lived her life with enthusiasm.

Kellner—Walling

Miss Mary Gretchen Kellner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis J. Kellner, Manitowoc, and David E. Walling, a Lawrence college graduate, were married at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon at St. John Episcopal church, Lynchburg, Va., where the bride has been attending Randolph Macon Woman's college. The Rev. Robert A. Magill read the service for the young couple, whose wedding plans were known only to the members of their families.


After a wedding trip through the south, Mr. and Mrs. Walling will make their home in Manitowoc. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Walling, Manitowoc, is employed with the sales department of the Hamilton Manufacturing company, Two Rivers. After graduating from Lawrence college, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, he studied at the Harvard School of Business Administration. His bride is a member of Pi Beta sorority.
