ALAN J. DUROCHER
(1948 - 2013)

Alan J. "Dobie" Durocher, age 64, of 3028 - 37th St. Two Rivers, died peacefully at home early Saturday morning, April 13, 2013, with his loving family at his side.

Alan was born June 19, 1948 in Two Rivers, a son of the late Frederick and Isabel (Brault) Durocher. He attended schools in Two Rivers and was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School. On November 16, 1974, he married Carol Tappa at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Oconto. He worked for Fisher Hamilton Company of Two Rivers for 43 years. Alan enjoyed golfing, playing in a long-standing Wednesday night league. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family at his cabin in Lakewood, Wisconsin; hunting, fishing, and kayaking on the many nearby lakes. He and Carol were avid Badger fans, following the team to several bowl games in recent years.

He will especially be remembered for how he found his own special way to take care of those around him. From helping a neighbor with a project, to babysitting for his granddaughter a few days a week, to stocking up on things he knew his family liked; he was always thinking of little ways that he could help and ways to make sure "his girls" were taken care of.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; his three daughters: Allison Durocher & husband, Carlos Tarazona, and their daughter, Frances of Chicago, IL; Katie Durocher & Michael Bateman, and daughters, Isabel and Alexis of Francis Creek; Elizabeth & husband Christopher Schwantes, of Oregon, WI and their daughter, Anna & expected daughter, Elana, to be born on Grandpas birthday; and Stephanie Raasch, and her family. Alan is further survived by a brother, Patrick Durocher of Madison; two sisters, Rachael (David) Bartz, Sturgeon Bay, and Renee Stefaniak of Milwaukee; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Mary Ann) Tappa of Appleton, Michael (Kathy) Tappa of Howard; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Durocher; a sister, Gemma Chase; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Rollard and Marion Tappa; and a brother-in-law, Paul Tappa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with burial in Forest View Cemetery at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:30 a.m. There will be no Wednesday evening visitation.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established to help benefit cancer patients at the Aurora Medical Center.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 - 18th St. Two Rivers is assisting the Durocher family with funeral arrangements.

Alan's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Andrew Yetter, the caregivers at Aurora Medical Center, the staff of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, and the Aurora VNA Hospice team for the loving care and compassion shown to Alan and his family.
