Herbert Hadley Andrae, 86, of Medford Lakes, died Thursday at Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.

Born in Jefferson City, Mo., Mr. Andrae lived in Medford Lakes for the past 36 years. A retired Army colonel, he was a graduate of West Point Military Academy and the Wharton School, Philadelphia. He served in the South Pacific during World War II and later in Korea. He was a lifetime member of the English Setter Club. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Lakes Church, Medford.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane (nee Lindroth); two sons, John Philip of Medford Lakes and Herbert Henry (Hank) of Jefferson City, Mo.; a daughter, Karen Abshear of Medford Lakes; a brother, Henry of Jefferson City, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 601 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn 08107.
