Eva H Finch Childs
On Tuesday night, the 8th inst., in this place, Mrs. Eva Childs, wife of Mr. C. E. Childs, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Finch.
Amiable, gentle and kind, none knew her but to love her; none spoke of her but to praise. She was a member of the Baptist Church and loved her religion as she loved her God, and in her death the church loses one of its most active workers and the cause of God one of its most zealous supporters.
Her young husband and afflicted parents have the sympathy of the whole community, in this, their sad bereavement. The exemplary Christian life of the departed will keep her name fresh and green in the minds of all; but nothing will perpetuate her memory more tenderly than the little babe she leaves to her bereaved husband.
Her remains were interred in the Episcopal Cemetery Thursday evening, and the funeral sermon was preached by Rev. J. H. Slough, of Shelby.
