John H. Hardrath, age 65, a resident of the Town of Newton, entered eternal life on Wednesday, September 24, 2014.

John was born on March 12, 1949 in Manitowoc to the late Alfred and Ruth Treick Hardrath. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1967. John then completed his education by receiving his Bachelors Degree from Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA. On August 4, 1973, John married Kathy Waack at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was employed at Lakeside Foods Inc. in Manitowoc for 40 years. On May 6, 1982, John had one of the happiest days of his life when his daughter entered his life. He enjoyed farming at his home and spending time with his family and friends. John was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newtonburg.

Survivors include John's wife of 41 years: Kathy; daughter: Amanda, and her fiancé, Jacob Nass, Town of Newton; father-in-law: Leroy Waack Sr.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law to include: Karen and Dennis Wernecke, Karol and John Loberger, and Leroy and Barb Waack; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents: Alfred and Ruth Hardrath; mother-in-law and step father-in-law: Delores and Lloyd Wernecke; and step mother-in-law: Theresa Waack.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7531 English Lake Road, Manitowoc. Rev. Victor Headrick will officiate with burial to follow at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The visitation will continue at church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
