OBITUARY-THE PAWNEE REPUBLICAN
JUNE 8, 1911

Cloud Harvey Fuller, was born September 5, 1858, at West Barnet, Vermont. He came to Pawnee county with his parents in 1866 and lived on a farm ten miles west of Pawnee City until 1879, when his father was elected sherriff of the county, and Cloud began, as deputy, the duties which have occupied almost his entire time for the past 30 years. He has been elected to the office of sheriff four times, and no county ever had a more conscientious and fearless offical than Cloud H. Fuller. His untimely death came as the result of injuries received in doing his duty. he was an earnest Christian; a member of the Presbyterian church, and had been an elder in the church for a long time. His wife and four children mourn his loss, and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to them.
Mr. Fuller was first married in 1881 to Alice Stitt, who died Feb. 10, 1894. To this union two children were born. December 12, 1895, he married Lizzie Junkin, who, with two children survive him.
The funeral services were held from the First Presbyterian church on Wednesday afternoon. A great throng, gathered from all over the county and many parts of the state, attended the services. The Workmen and Woodmen Lodges, of which the deceased was a member, acted as escorts, and accompanied the remains to the cemetery. Eleven sheriffs from other counties were present, among the number being,
Sheriff J.L. Schick of Gage Co.
Sheriff W.H. Jones of Nemaha Co.
Sheriff James Chisimiside of Jefferson Co.
Sheriff W.F. Fenton of Richardson Co.
Sheriff J.M. Dunkel of Hall Co.
Sheriff J.A. Jones of Nuckolls Co.
Sheriff E.H. Fischer of Otoe Co.
Sheriff E.L. Roberts of Johnson Co.
The business houses and offices of the city were closed from 3 to 5 p.m. of the day of the funeral, and in all it was a great testimony to the respect of the community for the deceased, for in Cloud Harvey Fuller the world had a man who left it better and happier than he found it.

He was father of Alfred Laird, David Harvey and Arthur Findlay Fuller.
