Harold L. "Sam" Daugs, age 79, a Manitowoc resident, died Friday evening, December 23, 2016.

Harold was born on March 28, 1937 in Manitowoc, son of the late Bernard and Esther (Prucha) Daugs. He graduated with the class of 1955 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Harold served in the U.S. Army National Guard for eight years from 1955 until 1963. On July 27, 1957, he married the former Betty Hill in Manitowoc. Harold worked as a floor mechanic as a sub-contractor for 52 years for various flooring companies. He enjoyed bowling until the age of 76 with his wife in the Couples League at Stueber's House of Bowling and in the Men's League. Harold enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball in Manitowoc, fishing, and loved watching the Green Bay Packers. He was a jack of all trades, always fixing and working on projects especially building two boats in his lifetime and working on various wood projects.

Harold is survived by his wife: Betty Daugs, Manitowoc; two daughters and one son-in-law: Pamela Farr, Manitowoc; Lori (Lee) Novy, rural Whitelaw; five grandchildren: Bradley (Amber) Daugs; Daniel Ford; Crystal (Andrew) Herald; Amy Farr; Michael Farr and his fiancée: Brittany Gallas; four great-grandchildren: Edward; Willem; Jericho; Jonah; two sisters: Doris Ellis, Sheboygan; Kathleen Welch, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bernard and Esther Daugs; one son: Daryl Daugs; two brothers: Kenneth Daugs; Richard Daugs; one sister: Lois Altman.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Connection Church-Assembly of God, 1455 North Rapids Road, Manitowoc. Rev. Chris Gilbert and Rev. Guy Corrigall will officiate. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
