Darlington -Lionel Edger Benton, 73, of Darlington died on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

Mr. Benton will be interred at Grove Hill Cemetery. His service to our country as a United States Marine, is not forgotten. Military Honors are not available during this pandemic.

Lionel was born in Whiteville, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Lionel Sessue and Ruby Lee Enzor Benton. Lionel served his country in the United States Marines in the Vietnam War. He and his brother, Mike owned and operated Benton. Lionel enjoyed collecting guns and cooking.

Surviving are his brother, Mike Benton of Darlington; his sister, Sandra Watford and husband, Gene; sister-in-law, Kathy Benton; and his niece and nephew, Chrissa Sansbury and Jason Selph. His friend, and dedicated employee, Jerome Kelly

Lionel was preceded in death by his parents listed above; and by his brother, Ronnie Benton.

Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home.
