He was born to Herman and Sophie (Stecker) Kufahl on April 4, 1905 in the Town of Berlin. After the death of his first wife Martha Sense in February of 1958, he married Lavine Krueger on May 2, 1959 in Merrill. He farmed for most of his life and was also employed at the Semling-Menke Company. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his step-daughters and step-sons, two sisters Mrs. Norma Voigt of Wausau and Mrs. Erna Radtke of Merrill; 23 step-grandchildren, 36 step-great-grandchildren and one step great great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 23, 1985 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Merrill. The Rev. Alden Beversdorf officiated and burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
