Eunice “Polly” Combs Dyson, 93 of Stony Point, died Monday, November 7, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Iredell County, December 5, 1917 daughter of the late George and Margaret Sharpe Combs.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Stony Point and retired from Bassett Furniture. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Odell Dyson, who passed away February 27, 1976, and six sisters and seven brothers.
Survivors include a daughter Deannie Beach and husband Clyde of Stony Point, two sons Bobby Dyson and wife Ann, and Randy Dyson and wife Marie all of Stony Point; grandchildren Kim Rape, Rodney Dyson, Alicia Smith, Mike Beach, Sonya Allen, Lisa Hardig and Curt Dyson, great grandchildren Lizzie Hardig, Steph Hardig, Kandace Allen, Kallie Allen, Kaine Allen, Andrew Dyson, Matthew Dyson, Kenzie Smith, Kade Smith, Kelbie Smith and one on the way.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The Revs. Wesley Hammer and Phil Addison will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 6 until 8 pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church, and at other times at the residence.
