Philip Bernhardt Boice, 83, of Town of Ulster, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Kingston Hospital, Kingston, NY. He was born September 26, 1928 in Town of Ulster to the late George and Nellie Hofmann Boice Sr.
Mr. Boice was a second-generation farmer, operating the Boice Farm in the Town of Ulster. He attended Old Dutch Church in Kingston and was a member of Ruby Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, water and snow skiing.
Surviving are one brother, Stanley Boice of Kingston, and three sisters, Inez Wood of Kingston, Ellen Kirchner of Suring, WI, and Freda Strokes of Kingston. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Three brothers, George William Boice, Jr., Charles Hofmann Boice and Paul Boice died previously.
Entrusted to the care of Paul Geary of the A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, Kingston. Services will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Kenneth Walsh of the Old Dutch Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurley Cemetery in Hurley, NY.
