A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Memorials may be made to the animal shelter of your choice or the American Cancer Association in Marilyn's memory.

Marilyn Dhabolt, 77, of Indianola, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Marilyn was born November 24, 1942 in West Des Moines to Alma and William Wood. When Marilyn was two years old her father died and her mom married Albert Coe, whom Marilyn was very proud to call her dad.
She loved to spend time with family and friends, spoil her pets and grandchildren, and to go shopping. She was an avid sports fan, watching any and all sports on TV, and a huge Iowa Hawkeye and Dallas Cowboy fan. Marilyn wouldn't miss watching her family in sporting events as well.
Marilyn was married to Donald Dhabolt on January 4, 1962. This marriage produced three children: Jeff (Jacque) Dhabolt of Perry, Toby (Kim) Dhabolt of Chariton, and Thersea (Dwight) Freitag of Elkader; 9 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, John Coe of Davenport, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2012; and her parents: Alma and Albert.
