Born to Burl Allison Sr and Perna M. (Diebold) Allison in Sumner, Illinois; raised in Augusta, Kansas. Eagle Scout. Married high school sweetheart, Augusta native Glennis Virginia Boucher, at the Augusta Methodist Church in November 1942. Enlisted in Army Air Corps in 1943, trained as a C-47 pilot. Veteran of WWII (South Pacific), Korea and Vietnam. Decorated Air Force career of 31 years, stationed all over the world. Retired from Air Force in Riverside, CA where he later worked for Riverside County Schools for another 11 years. Furniture builder, classical music lover. Married over 60 years. Loving father. 4 Children; 8 Grandchildren; 9 Great-Grandchildren.
(Note: Lt. Col. Allison originally was buried at Riverside National Cemetery in 2003, a great honor. In 2018, when Glennis passed on, her last request was to bring her husband "home" so they could be together forever in the town they met and married in. Inurned in 2018 at Elmwood Cemetery, they rest together among dozens of other family members.)
