Ola was born 1902 in Taney County, Missouri.

Ola preferred the name Elizabeth. The public and customers called her Elizabeth, family called her Ola, except her brother Paul called her "Dola".

Married five times: Carl Formhals (1930-1931), Clarence Denton (1933-1937), Jack Dri (1939-?), Clarence Hosey (1947-1957)and Albert Horn (1978-1984). She outlived Clarence Hosey and Albert Horn.

She was a seamstress for most of her life. She worked for a time as a seamstress in Los Angeles, but soon returned to Commerce.

While working as a seamstress in Commerce a local funeral director approached her with the idea of making burial garments which led to Elizabeth Burial Garments. Elizabeth Fabric store was a spin-off from Elizabeth Burial Garments. She was well known in the four state region of OK, MO, KS and Ark.

For many years Ola together with her sister Della and brother Paul lived in Commerce while operating Elizabeth Burial Garments and Elizabeth Fabric Shop.


Devote Baptist. Active member of the Commerce Baptist Church from the 1930s until her death in 1991.
