Services: Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Elkin officiating. Interment will be in the Corpus Christi Cemetery with military honors presented by the V.F.W. Post No. 1856.
Visitation: The visitation is Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
James is survived by his wife of 53 years Betty; his children Bill Dutcher, and his friend Sue Green; Mike (Lori) Dutcher, Teresa (Tim) Mernka, all of Fort Dodge; Tom (Toni) Dutcher, Urbandale, 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brother Ernie (Audrey) Dutcher and his sisters, Vera Smith, Darlene (Frank) Banwart and Arlene (Gene) Herrick. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barb Eldridge.

James Milford Dutcher, the son of Francis and Zola (Ward) Dutcher, was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Lehigh, Iowa. He graduated from Lehigh High School in 1949, where he enjoyed playing baseball. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served time in the Korean War. In 1953, James was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Betty) Kern at Corpus Christi Church. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Jim graduated from Tobin Business College and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 34 years.

James enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and of course his grandchildren. He was member of the United States Postal Workers Union and a life member of the V.F.W.

Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
