Daughter of George John Elias and Anna M. Tekach.

Margaret was first united in marriage in 1918 with Jess Glenton Clewell; son of Jacob Clewell and Kate "Katie" Mary Root.

Jess and Margaret were the parents of four children:

1. Robert Glen (1923-1923)
2. Albert George born 1924 married Ilamay Thorp, Nancy Tucker, and Maxine Stanbury
3. Jess Glenton Jr. born 1927 married Dolores Wallich
4. Franklin LeRoy born 1930 married Grace Lucille Lufkin

Jess Sr. passed away 20 mar 1953.

Margaret next married widower (2) Thomas Robert Straus, Sr. in Apr 1954 in Knox County, IL. He passed away in 1969.

On 01 Mar 1973 in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois, Magadalena was united in marriage (#3) with widower Elzie Marion Rutledge. He passed away in 1978.

MRS. MARGARET CLEWELL, THOMAS STRAUSS WED AT CHURCH PARSONAGE

A double ring ceremony, read by the Rev. Patrick Byrnes of Corpus Christi Church, united in marriage Mrs. Margaret Clewell and Thomas Strauss of East Galesburg, Saturday morning at 11:30 o'clock. The event took place in the church parsonage.

The couple was attended by the bride's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Clewell of Rio.

For her wedding Mrs. Clewell wore a powder blue suit, accented with nave blue accessories. Mrs. Albert Clewell wore a light blue nylon dress with white accessories. Corsages, for both Mrs. Clewell and her daughter-in-law, were pink rosebuds.

Guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Clewell, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Clewell Jr. and Terry, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Cameron, Charles and Richard Rosiere and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Manyx.

Following the ceremony the couple and wedding party gathered in the bride's home in East Galesburg where a dinner was served.

Present at the couple's home, besides those attending the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Strauss and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Walck, Mrs. Anna Elias, Mrs. Walck, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Walck, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walck, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Strauss, all of East Galesburg, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Widger, Fairview, and Evelyn and Mrs. Mary Elias, Farmington.
