Princess Frederica of Prussia was the youngest child and only daughter of Prince Louis Charles of Prussia and his wife Frederica of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Her father was a younger son of Frederick William II of Prussia. George V, King of Hanover was her half-sibling. She was married in Berlin on April 18, 1818 to Leopold IV, Duke of Anhalt.

She was originally buried at the Dessau Marienkirche, but she and her husband were disinterred and reinterred in the Friedhof I, Dessau.
