Illa Jo Zysset, 84 of Farnam, NE went to dance in Heaven on May 12, 2020 at Senior Living Choices in Curtis, NE.

Jo was born in Curtis on November 24, 1935 to Woodrow and Helen (McLaughlin) Hosick. She was the oldest of six children. She attended grade school in Curtis and graduated in 1953 from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture. After graduation she moved to Denver, CO for a short time and worked for General Electric. On August 22, 1954 she married Mervin Zysset, in Curtis and to this union four children were born. They lived and worked on the farm for a year before moving to Colorado where Mervin was working in road construction. They lived in several places in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah before moving back to the farm in 1961. Jo was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and a woman of many talents. Family was her greatest joy and knew all the full names, birthdays, and anniversaries for all generations. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved music, dancing, rubber stamping and painting. Her most unique hobby was coming up with different baby names for anyone that she knew that was expecting (73 ways to spell Jayme). She was a great helpmate on the farm, best parts runner, and a wonderful cook no matter how many showed up even if she was only planning on four. She resided on the farm until 2015 when she moved to Senior Living Choices in Curtis due to Parkinson’s Disease.

Jo is survived by husband Mervin of Farnam, children, Shauna (Bill) Wiegrefe of Bennington, NE; Kirk (Cari) Zysset of Curtis, Waid (Marilyn) Zysset of Hastings, NE and Miquon (Mark) Sheffield of Curtis, NE.
