"Mrs. Charlotte K. Poppleton, Wife of W.S. Poppleton Passes Away After a Brief Illness"
Mrs. Charlotte Kennedy Poppleton, wife of William S. Poppleton, died at the family residence, 1056 South Twenty-ninth street, at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, after an illness of only a few days. Death resulted from intestinal intersusception.
The deceased was 32 years of age, and had been a resident of Omaha all her life. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.E.B. Kennedy, both of whom survive her. She is also survived by a sister, Miss Fannie A. Kennedy, now living in Cherry county. Eleven years ago she was married to Mr. Poppleton, who is also a member of one of the pioneer families of this city.
Mrs. Poppleton was well known among all the older families in the city and was among the most popular of the younger matrons of Omaha. The news of her death occasioned very much of a shock in the social circle of which for years, she had been a highly esteemed member. Of the immediate family but the husband survives, an only child, Jack, having died three and a half years ago.
The funeral will take place at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the residence, with interment at Prospect Hill.
