Mary Josephine (Mollie) Millard was the second child of Robert F. Millard and Massy Wadlington Millard, born in Nacogdoches, Tx in 1848. On 20 August 1867, she married Elijah Muckleroy Burrows. Her older brother, John Joshua Millard, married Celia Burrows, a sister of Elijah M. Burrows in March, 1871.
Elijah built the house they lived in north of Nacogdoches where the hospital is located. Mary Josephine was in poor health in her later years and was taken care of by her first child, Fannie O. Burrows. This house was acquired by Lera Millard Thomas when the hospital acquired the acreage and is now at Millard's Crossing in Nacogdoches and is known as "The Burrows-Lee House".
In return for the care of Mary Josephine by Fannie, she and her husband, Matt Muckleroy lived there with most of Fannie's children being born there and living there. In the summers of 1941 and 1942, my mother, Robbie Muckleroy, would park me there for the summer. So, I call it "The Muckleroy Home".
Mary J. is buried adjacent to Elijah with a joint tombstone. She is buried on the same row as her mother and her brother.
