Scott A. Alexander, 82, of Flat Rock, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at Hope Health Care in Cape Coral, Florida.
Born Aug. 18, 1937, in Shelby County, he was the son of Toila B. Alexander. He married Joan (Swinford) Alexander on Nov. 27, 1960, and she survives.
Survivors include son, Mark Alexander (wife, Michelle) of Brazil, Indiana; sister, Jeanine Clanton (husband, Richard) of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Katy Ferro Bytnar (husband, Pat) of Chesterton, Gatlin Ferro (wife, Heather) of Carlisle, Ind., Emily Alexander of Shelbyville, Bekah Alexander of Waldron, Jacob Ketcham, Bradley Alexander, Elias Alexander, Abigail Alexander, and Salina Alexander, all of Brazil; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother; daughter, Lesley Ferro Burton (husband, Jim); and brother, Stephen Meek.
Mr. Alexander had lived in this area his entire lifetime and graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1956. He had been owner/president of Blue River Telecommunications for several years and had been employed with Bell Telephone/AT&T for many years. Scott was a member of Flat Rock Christian Church and Masonic Lodge of Norristown.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1997, attaining the rank of Sergeant 1st Class.
Scott enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family.
Private graveside service will be Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Flat Rock Cemetery with Pastor Brian Ebersold officiating. Friends may call on Saturday morning, May 16, 2020, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd, from 10 to 11 a.m., although not over 25 people will be allowed in the home at any given time, due to COVID-19 mandates.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Flat Rock Christian Church General Fund, in care of the funeral home.
