John graduated from Loco public schools. He married Wanda Faye Sullivan on March 4, 1961, in Loco. They raised four children – Randy, Ron, Rodney and Renae.
He was employed as a quality technician at Goodyear for 24 years. He enjoyed rebuilding cars and mowers. Fishing, gardening, and yardwork were his favorite pastimes. He loved to hang out with his grandkids. John had been a deacon at Corum Baptist Church and was currently a member at New Hope Baptist Church West.
John is survived by his wife, Wanda Faye Hamilton; children: Randy and wife Donna Hamilton of Cache; Ron and wife Kathy Hamilton of Denton, Texas; Rodney Hamilton of Ardmore; Renae Hamilton of Duncan; grandchildren: Aaron Hamilton, Torey Hamilton, Shelbie Kile, Randi Hamilton, Dottie Hawthorne, Jenny Rowell, Amy Garcia, Jonathan McFeely, Colleen McFeely, Alison Goeke, Hollice Hamilton; 14 great grandchildren; and sisters: Lorine Boungh of Edmond, Lola and husband Wesley Henrey of Odessa, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Lewis Hamilton and Walter Hamilton; and sisters: Betty Hamilton and Mildred Cooksey.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Hamilton, Brad Cooksey, Chris Cooksey, Greg Oxford, Kevin Myers, Aaron Hamilton and Jonathon McFeely.
