At the time of his death, he leaves his grandchildren: Jimmy, Peggy, Mary Piper, Martha, Billy, David Devaney, Debbie & Dorry Devaney. His other grandchildren were born after he passed on were: Danny, Paul, Mary, Jay, Kevin, Bobby Devaney & Carol & Kathy Guth. He was the son of the late John Martin Devaney & Mary (Duffy) Devaney of Cambridge, formally of Ireland. Jimmy also leaves his brother Frank Devaney & sister Sadie (Sarah) and the late John M Devaney & Mary "Mae" (Devaney) McGowan and sister Delia who died in infancy. Uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Active until illness on Boston Fire Dept., Engine 41/Ladder 14 in Allston. Jimmy and his son, Joe were the only Father/Son team on the fire department in the same fire house.
