Clara Jeanne Agnelli was a daughter of Edoardo Agnelli and his wife, Donna Virginia Bourbon del Monte, daughter of Carlo Bourbon del Monte, Prince di San Faustino, and his American wife, the former Jane Allen Campbell. She was married in 1938 to Prince Tassilo zu Furstenberg by whom she had three children. They were divorced and she was married in 1974 in a civil ceremony to Giovanni Nuvoletti. They were wed religiously in 1989 following the death of her first husband.
