In the diaries written by Morton Philips (nephew in law) in 1918 he states on 12th June that 'Aunt Betley has had two severe heart attacks', on 28th 'a trunk call to say Betley was very ill', on 30th 'Betley is very weak, they don't she will get better but she may linger. on 2nd July 'Got a telegram to say Betley died at 2am. The funeral service was held on Friday 5th July at St Judes at 2pm followed by burial at Brompton Cemetery.
