Thomas Elwood Barbara, age 73, of Deer Park Texas Passed away May 13th 2020. Tom was born in Northville Michigan on December 28th 1946. He grew up with his siblings Paul, Sheri, John, Gary Mike, George and Debbie. After graduating from Walled Lake High school in 1964, he joined the US Military to serve in the US Navy from 1964-1971 as part of the nuclear submarine program. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1971 from the US Navy, Tom went on to work in the operation, construction, inspection and maintenance of power boilers and pressure vessels industry for over forty-three years including twenty-six years in supervision and management.
He worked for Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection from 1971-1996, Waukesha-Pearce Industries from 1996-1998, Pall Houston from 1998-2011 and OneCIS from 2011-2020.
Tom was incredibly involved in the Moose association. He donated his time and love to the Moose for 39 years receiving honors and certificates of appreciation. He was elected Pilgrim and received his gold jacket in 2007. Tom was also a valued member of Toys for Tots where he received more certificates of appreciation. He donated his time and money in every event that he could be a part of and rode his motorcycles proudly in dozens of Toys for Tots rides.
Toms passions included helping others in every way that he possibly could, singing karaoke, attending and donating to benefits, spending free time with family and friends and riding his beloved motorcycle.
Tom is proceeded in death by his mother Joyce, his father John and his brother Gary.
He is survived by his fiancé Annie Seagraves, three children TJ, Terri and Chuck, his thirteen grandchildren Megan, Jason, Nikki, Jordyn, Josh L, Sabrina, Josh B, Maddie, William, Ashley, Nathan, Austin and Brianna and his ten great grandchildren Weston, Adelyn, Sofia, Liam, Easton, Thomas, Elliot, Colton, Grace and Lena.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Tom touched are invited to Grandview Funeral home 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena Tx 77505 for visitation from 5-8pm on Tuesday May 19th 2020.
Graveside service, approximately 11am, will follow the private service on Wednesday May 20th 2020.
