OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Monday, 12 December 1966:

Funeral services for Mrs. W. O. (Cotton) Estes, 46, of 101 Bellview Drive, who died suddenly Sunday afternoon, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Church of Christ at Grapeland with James W. Moseley and Lowell Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, Elkhart.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Bedford, Albert Lee Easley, Harold Hogan, Alton W. Smith, E. D. Mitchell and Harold Steadman.

Mrs. Estes, the former Miss Edna Earl Masters, was born in Houston County on May 7, 1920, to the late John Henry and Delila Evans Masters. Member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ, she moved to Palestine form Grapeland three years ago. She died Sunday at 3:45 p.m. in a local hospital following a sudden illness.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Sherman Lee Estes of Lake Jackson; two brothers, Hugh Stafford Masters of Lake Jackson, and Elbert Hulan Masters of Brattleboro, Vermont; three granddaughters, Leigh Ann, Redonda Faye and Tonya Renee Estes, all fo Lake Jackson; a sister-in-law, Mrs. H. L. (Pattie) Masters of Grapeland; and several nieces and nephews.
The body will be at Hassell & Foster, Grapeland.
