Richard G. Henkel, 82, of York died on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his residence.

Richard was born in Lancaster on June 21, 1935, son of the late John H. and Margaret (Fallon) Henkel. He was formerly of Clementon, NJ.

Richard was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Class of 1953. Richard attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in York. He was employed in sales most of his career.

He is survived by six children, Thomas Calloway of Sarasota, FL, Susan Henkel of Sicklerville, NJ, Margaret Perazzelli of Collingswood, NJ, Christine Henkel of Sarasota, FL, Anne Shelly of Wrightsville, and Matthew Henkel of Sarasota, FL; nine grandchildren, Scott, Suzanne, Alex, Sean, Aryn, Taylor, Reggie, David, and Billy; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Anna, and Ethan; and five siblings, Jack Henkel of Lower Burrell, Anne Foerster of Germany, Rosemarie Hartner of Whitehall, PA, Mary Shelly of Whitehall, PA, and Phillip Henkel of Millersville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York with Father James Menkhus, OFM, Cap officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Private burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bausman, Lancaster County.
