Burial here is presumed because she was in West Monroe as of the 1875 census and her daughter Bessie is buried in this cemetery but confirmation of interment here may not be possible.

On page 91 of his book, A History and Genealogy of the Comstock Family in America by Dr. John Adams Comstock, there is an entry from the original family bible for a daughter of Solomon named Polly who married someone named Cook.

Polly, b. July 25, 1792; m. _____ Cook.

Note: No marriage record has been found for Gardner and Polly.

While this memorial is based on circumstantial evidence and does not meet genealogical standards of proof, Polly Cook is presumed to be Polly Comstock based on the following indicators:

1. She has the correct first name and she is married to someone named Cook.
2. Polly and Gardner are in New York and the distance from her parents in Hartwick is reasonably close.
3. Census records list her with the correct year of birth, 1792.
4. Census records list her with the correct place of birth, Connecticut.
5. No other persons named Polly Cook have been found in this area who might have been Polly Comstock.

Her actual year of death is also unknown and 1878 is only entered as an estimate because no record of her was found after the 1875 census.
