Grace Mattie Couch was the daughter of Orval L. and Dorothy (Morrow) Couch. Her father was tax assessor and county clerk for Wellington, Texas.

Grace graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1915.

She was a native of Chico, Texas and had lived in Corpus Christi a number of years prior to moving to Oklahoma.

Mrs. Grace M. Couch Wilkins, 84, formerly of Corpus Christi, died Monday in a Stroud, Oklahoma nursing home after a long illness.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rosalind W. Sheek of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Hugh Miller, Jr. of Stroud; a son Dr. B. Hugh Wilkins of Coravallis, Oregon; two brothers, Harry Couch of Childress and Orval Couch of Homer, Louisiana; a sister, Mrs. Hester Stall of Tyler; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Clifford Jackson Kostoryz Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park. Clifford Jackson Funeral Home.
