Obituary: "Walter Evers, founding president of Walter Evers & Co., management consultants, died of leukemia on May 11 at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. He was 76 years old and had homes in Cleveland and Coronado, CA.
The Cleveland-based company which Mr. Evers headed from 1960 until 1984, advised corporations including CBS, General electric, Dart Industries and Olivetti.
Mr. Evers was a native of Englewood, NJ, and a graduate of St. John's College in Annapolis, MD. He was a board member of the college from 1958 to 1986, served four years as board chairman and helped found a second campus in Santa Fe, NM. In World War II, he served in the Navy in Washington and in the North Atlantic, rising to lieutenant.
Survivors include his wife, the former Emlen Davies Grosjean; a son Ridgely of San Francisco; a daughter Sally Everett of Cleveland; three step daughters, Marilen Tilt of Katonah, NY and Diane Grosjean and Mia Grosjean of Manhattan; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren."
