Of Washington Township passed away Monday, August 20, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Hobart. He was born on February 29, 1980 in Valparaiso to Dennis L. and Mary (Roop) Clem. Delbert graduated from Washington Twp. High School in 1999 and recently worked in the blast furnace at Mittal Steel, formerly Inland Steel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Iraq, and was actively in the U.S. Army National Guard. Delbert was a member of the Eagle Scouts, American Legion Post 403 of Wanatah, and the V.F.W. Post 988 of Valparaiso. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Mary and Edward Hubbard of Wanatah; father, Dennis L. Clem of Washington Twp.; fiance, Louissa Krol of Hebron; sister, Venessa Clem of Wanatah; brother, David Clem of Valparaiso; grandmother, Frances Roop of Wheeler; grandfather, Delbert Clem I; and niece, Kelsey Clem of Wanatah. Delbert was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Roop and grandmother, Velma Clem.
