Paul Ray Bauman, 76, of Midwest City, Oklahoma peacefully passed away May, 23, 2020 with his wife at his side. Paul Bauman was born September 29th, 1943 to Robert and Ruth Bauman in Nowata, Oklahoma. He graduated from Nowata High School in 1961 and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He grew up in Nowata, OK with his three siblings, Robert Bauman Jr., Lee Bauman, and baby sister Carol Black. As a child, he spent care free days after school chasing all kinds of critters from birds to raccoons. In his very young days, he and his brothers lived in rural Oklahoma where electricity and indoor plumbing were not existent. Later on his early teen years, his family moved into a home that had electricity and running water that were considered a luxury during his much younger years. After High School, Paul joined the United States Air force where he served his country in Okinawa, Japan for four years. After his active years of service, he landed the job at Tinker Air Force Base in 1966. After many years of hard work and dedication to his country, he retired from TAFB as a Jet Engine Test Cell Section Chief with 38 years of service. He married Teri on 11/09/1988, together they raised two children; Alexandria and Dustin. Raising his children, Paul was the man that enjoyed the mind and creativity of a child and enjoying all children he knew helped him relive his youth in many ways over the years. Paul made a lasting impression on many of the kids running the neighborhood as well as all the children in his family by telling the old stories of back when "I was a kid!". He was a die-hard sports fanatic and loved hockey, NASCAR and every season he cheered on his favorite football teams, the OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. Paul and his family shared a passion for extreme roller coasters, family tennis, volleyball, and badminton matches, gardening, their beloved pets, and as well as.. a friendly competition of Farkle and Catch Phrase. Paul and Teri devoted their lives to one another and built a lifetime of everlasting love. Paul was a Husband, Father, "Paw-Paw", brother and Uncle. He was the definition of a family patriarch. He led by example of unconditional love and untapped stubborn strength. He enjoyed spending this time golfing and fishing with his son, brothers, nephews and coworkers. Paul was always up to date on politics and weather; reading the newspaper each day front to back, completing the crossword puzzle most of the time without a pen, and followed local weather often making his own analysis of what would "truly" happen for the day. In the kitchen, he was the Master Chef, omelets being his forte. He enjoyed being creative on the grill and always creating wonderful grill marinades from his own imagination. Paul had a green thumb, taking pride in having the greenest and best yard in the neighborhood along with growing an abundance of jalapenos and vegetables, which were often bestowed as gifts to family/friends as jellies and canned goods. If you visited during gardening season, it was guaranteed you would leave with a few jars and a sack of "goods." At Christmas, Paul was truly one of a kind, especially when it came to decorating the outside of the house with Christmas lights, the house competed with "Clark Griswold" for the most and brightest Christmas lights, adding more every year. Again, Paul's life was dedicated to his family, a true family man affirming his love until his passing. He was deeply loved by his family and was a good friend to all who knew him.
