Franklin M. Myers, Sr., 90, entered into the presence of God, on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, from Manor Care South. He was the husband of Mildred (Markey) Myers, with whom he shared one day shy of 65 years of marriage. Born on May 27, 1922, in York County, he was the son of the late Gertrude (Ness) and Franklin J. Myers. Mr. Myers was a selfemployed farmer on his family farm for several decades. He retired from York Stone & Supply as a truck driver. Mr. Myers belonged to the Codorus Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the "Bear in Mind Hunting Camp" in Potter County, where he enjoyed hunting for many years. He was an avid Phillies baseball fan. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose presence will be deeply missed. Franklin leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mildred Myers; a daughter, Judy Stein and husband, Charlie of Wrightsville; two daughters-in-law, Jane Myers of Bear, Del., and Cathy Myers of York; grandchildren, Michelle Parill, Melinda Lomenzo, Justin Myers, and Kelsey Myers; step grandchildren, Jason Stein, Colby Culp; great-grandchildren, Marina Parill, Briese Parill, Angelina Lomenzo, and one on the way; step great-grandchildren, Zachary Lomenzo, Colt Stein and Clay Stein, Wyatt Chernov; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Franklin Myers, Jr., Terry Myers; and a sister, Lestie Fitz. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at his church, Codorus Church of the Brethren, Loganville, with Pastor Richard Fischl officiating. Following the service will be a time of visitation and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in care of the Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Road, Loganville, PA 17342; or a charity of your choice. The Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., is in entrusted with the arrangements.
